Asbestos cancer also called mesothelioma is a form of cancer which can be caught by being exposed to asbestos. Asbestos is a silicate mineral which is known for its toxicity. Inhalation of asbestos during a long period can cause serious health issues such as lung cancer, mesothelioma and asbestosis.

The symptoms of asbestos cancer, mesothelioma,is mainly breath issues and chest pain which can be accompanied by a loss of weight. Symptons appear normally only up to 50 years after exposure. Regarding the treatment for asbestos, there are several options possible. Some people have tried surgery, others radiation, meanwhile results have been disapointing. The best solution up to date is to go for chemotherapy which has proved to increase survival length. Asbestos has been banned from use in many countries since the 1980's. Most people who caught asbestos cancer were exposed to asbestos particles while at work. As a consequence, people who have been exposed and who now have lung cancer, are taking legal action against their employers.
